forest is a performance work currently in development, exploring darkness, imagination, and the uneasy relationship between seen and unseen.

In the workshops so far, performers work in near-total darkness using the lights on their phones as the only source of illumination. As they move, they reveal parts of themselves, each other, and the space around them. Bodies appear and disappear. Floors and walls become surfaces to be discovered. Light becomes something physical — a way of searching, protecting, exposing.

A forest is not shown literally. The word is a bridge — something that already lives in the audience’s imagination before they even enter the space. The piece becomes an imagined environment built through limited visibility, careful listening, and spatial uncertainty. Performers move as if they are navigating dense terrain, constantly negotiating closeness, risk, and orientation. Nothing is ever fully revealed.
